The Architecture and Methodology Competence Center aims at adressing issues that can be solved by either enterprise architecture processes or by applying certain methodologies.
As the name of this competence center, the content addressed here is twofold:
1. Architecture: The goal is to follow the evolution of what is known as Enterprise Architecture frameworks and how they can be applied in enterprises. Enterprise Architecture is a common concern is most modern organizations and is not (anymore) only linked to the I.T. department as it addresses different strategical aspects in the enterprise.
In terms of frameworks, we do not try to re-invent the wheel by putting a 'SAGA' Enterprise Architecture framewok. We believe that there are good existing open frameworks built up by the community of thoughts leaders/architects and that these frameworks will always bring more value than closed frameworks. We more specifically follow the evolution of the TOGAF and the Zachman frameworks.
2. Methodologies: The goal here is to follow-up different standard methodologies that can best address the delivery of I.T. solutions. We mainly focus on the application side as it remains our core business.
Again, the goal is not to come up with proprietary SAGA methodologies but to reuse part of or complete existing standard methodologies. Possibly combine different concepts together to address specific issues.
The result of this work is used internally (for example methodologies to follow-up our Fixed Price Projects, Application Management Contracts,...) but also for our customers to advise them with the best open and standard methodologies.
Among the methodologies that we follow-up are standard Project Management Methodologies such as Prince/2 and the PMBok promoted by PMI but also Software Development Methodologies such as the Unified Process, Agile,...
